Ruby G. (Walker) Haines, age 88, passed away Wednesday evening, December 16, 2015 at the Franklin Meadows Health & Rehabilitation Center in Franklin. She was a resident of Edinburgh.
Ruby was born June 24, 1927, in Brown County to the late Charlie and Bessie (Murphy) Walker. She married Harold K. Haines, the love of her life, on April 4, 1947 in Nashville. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2004 after 57 wonderful years of marriage.
Ruby was employed at Camp Atterbury during the 1950's and was also employed at Amos Plastic in Edinburgh. She worked for a short time as an Assembler with Western Electric in Indianapolis. Ruby enjoyed painting, ceramics, flower gardening and loved to mushroom hunt.
Ruby was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #233 in Edinburgh.
Ruby is survived by three sons, Harold Wayne (Janice) Haines of Greenwood, Ricky L. (Rita) Haines of Brown County & Terry L. (Teresa) Haines of Edinburgh; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son; Larry Haines, six sisters; Maude Pruitt, Edith Schrougham, Lillian Hacker, Garnet Gamber, Margie Applegate & Orpha Samuels; four brothers, Warren, Ansel, Floyd & Estel Walker, nephew; Bob Applegate and one granddaughter, Loretta Lynn Haines.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center located at 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
