Rocky A. McTarsney age 59 passed away Friday morning, October 12, 2012 at his home in Morgantown.
He was born December 3, 1952 in Franklin to his parents: Lynn Oliver & Esther Marie (Rogers) McTarsney. Rocky was a 1971 graduate of Franklin Community High School and went on to serve his country with the United States Army Airborne.
Survivors include his father: Lynn McTarsney of Franklin; two sons: Rocky A. McTarsney Jr. of Plainfield & Matthew A. McTarsney of Franklin; one daughter: Angie G. McTarsney of Morgantown; three brothers: Jack (Carol) McTarsney of Franklin, Brian McTarsney of Amity & Barry (Lisa) McTarsney of Franklin; three sisters: Debbie (Larry) Bowman of Edinburgh, Crystal (Tom) Smith of Waverly & Dawn McTarsney of Greenwood; two grandchildren: Joseph & Josh McTarsney.
Rocky was preceded in death by his mother: Esther McTarsney; and by his wife: Iva Jane (Burnam) McTarsney on June 6, 2010, whom he married in Cadiz, Kentucky.
Rocky retired in 2009 as a Production Operator with Arvins Industries in Franklin & Columbus, after 37 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, visiting flea markets & yard sales.
The Rev. Jim Moore will conduct a funeral service 1 pm Monday at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 am until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown with military rites presented by the Martinsville American Legion & Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guards.
