Rev. Leland E. Roller, age 87 passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 in Parrish, Alabama. He was a resident of Parrish, AL and a former resident of Morgan County.
Leland was born March 3, 1931 in Park City, Kentucky to the late, Joseph and Pearl Effie Roller. He served as an Airman for the United States Air Force on a Crash Fire Rescue Unit during the Korean War.
He was a graduate of Indiana Bible College in Indianapolis and preached in churches, both in Indiana and in Alabama for over 40 years. Leland also worked as a Die Spotter for General Motors Truck & Bus Plant in Indianapolis, retiring in 1990 after 31 years of service.
He was an avid reader of his Bible and loved sharing the Word of God with family and friends. Leland enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a fan of NASCAR, with his favorite driver being Jeff Gordon.
He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Betty C. (Ogden) Roller, on August 22, 2006. Leland was also preceded in death by his children; Stephen Roller, Michele Kernodle and Sandra Morris; siblings, Francis Billings, Ruth Carson, Thelma Schanberger and James Roller; and a son in law, Randy Martin.
He is survived by his children; Denise Pope of Avon, Elaine Hedlund of Indianapolis, Jill Martin of Bowling Green, KY, Leland Mark Roller of Indianapolis, Erin (Wayland) Feltner of Martinsville and Brenda (Rick) Frazier of Brazil; brother, Malcom Roller of Columbus; 21 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
The Rev. Ed Roller will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery.
