Mary Ellen (Baker) Coseboon, age 84, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, June 22, 2015 at IU Health West in Avon. She was a resident of Greenwood and a former resident of Morgantown.
Mary was born on November 2, 1930, in Marion County, to the late Elden E. and Helen Catherine (York) Baker. She married Alvin E. Johnson on January 10, 1948 in Indianapolis he preceded her in death on February 23, 2003.
Mary is survived by her children: Richard L. Johnson of Dahlonega, GA, Rebecca Z. (Mike) Denny of Greenwood and Veneta M. (Pete) Golden of Pittsboro. She will be remembered by her siblings: Daniel Baker of Avon and David Baker of California; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by a brother: Richard E. Baker.
She was a member of the South Meridian Church of God in Indianapolis and formerly attended the Community Church of Southport. Mary loved caring for children and was the Nursery Director for over 30 years at the South Meridian Church of God. She was known for her cooking and baking and was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers.
The Rev. Bill Swesey will conduct a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Southport Nazarene Church, 920 E. Southport Road in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until service time on Thursday at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
