Donald R Emerson

Donald R. "Bud" Emerson, age 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 30, 2015 at his home in Brown County.

Bud was born November 13, 1942, in Williamsport, to the late Loyd and Aleene (Morgan) Emerson. He attended school in Brown County and was a retired self-employed Masonry. Bud was a member of the Way of the Holiness Church in Brown County. He loved his family and will be remembered as a "workaholic" and for his famous sloppy joes.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Emerson, whom he married on April 27, 1973 in Columbus, children, Donna (Charles) Dodson of Columbus, Rhonda (Alex) Sizemore, Michael (Tina) Emerson and Robert Emerson all of Trafalgar; Deanna Emerson of Russellville and Amanda Emerson of Trafalgar; siblings, Anna (Harvey) Haugh of Franklin, Wilma Johnson, Garnetta (Harold) Vaught, Loretta (Hobert) Roark and Boyd (Jan) Emerson all of Nashville and Darryl (Pam) Emerson of Edinburgh; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by a daughter, Thelma Emerson; son, Ronald Sandner-Emerson and a sister, Ava Emerson.

The Rev. Wayne Baker will conduct a funeral service at noon on Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Spearsville Wesleyan Cemetery in Brown County.
