David H. Ellis, age 69 passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, May 24, 2015 at his home in Morgantown.
He was born in Indianapolis on February 10, 1946, to his parents, the late Paul L. and Martha E. (Tapp) Ellis. David was a 1964 graduate of Emmerich Manuel High School in Indianapolis and went on to marry Marcia I. (Durham) Ellis on November 15, 1964 in Brown County. She loving survives after 50 devoted years of marriage.
David is also survived by his children: Candy L. (Steve) Hamm of Blue River, WI, Greg D. Ellis of Morgantown, Jerry D. Ellis of Spencer and Shaun M. Ellis of California; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Mary Ellen White, Joyce Hicks and Clifford Ellis.
David retired in 1998 from Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis as a Journeyman/Machine Repairman, after 33 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed being an over the road truck driver and a tour bus driver. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 1111 and was a fifty year member of the Morgantown General Assembly Church of the First Born. David will be remembered for his willingness to always help other in need. He was a jack-of-all-trades and would fix anything from electrical, mechanical to carpentry. David loved his family and enjoyed reading his Bible.
Bro.'s Stan White and Rodger Bunch will conduct a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
