A Gerald "Randy" Randolph

A. Gerald "Randy" Randolph, age 77 passed away Wednesday evening, June 27, 2012 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Morgantown and former resident of Maryland & Alabama.

Randy was born June 9, 1935 in Hackleburg, AL to the late Louis L. & Nola K. (Hall) Randolph. He attended school in Hackleburg and went on to serve as an Airman First Class with the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1957. He then married his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Rosalee K. (Kinnett)Randolph, on February 10, 1957 in Crestview, FL. She preceded him in death on December 4, 2009.

Randy earned his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama in 1962. He retired in 1998 as the General Manager of Operations for Hudson Foods in Maryland & Alabama after 15 years of service. Prior to that, he worked as the Controller for Wally-Clegg Poultry in Alabama for 14 years.

Randy is survived by his children: Rebecca Jo Byrd M.D. and her husband James Byrd of Birmingham, AL, Rita L. Janis and her husband Paul Janis O.D. of Franklin & Gregory L. Randolph and his wife Toni Randolph of Morgantown. He will be remembered by his four siblings: Kate Henderson of Bessemer, AL, Sammy (wife, Betty) L. Randolph of Atlanta, GA, Joan (Billy) Yielding of Hamilton, AL & Gracelyn Ray of Hackleburg, AL; three grandchildren: Houston Randolph of Morgantown and William & Matthew Byrd of Birmingham, AL.

Randy enjoyed fishing, working in his garden and investing in the stock market. He was a fan of the University of Alabama Football.

The Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a funeral service 1 pm Saturday at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Morgantown with Military Graveside Rites presented by the Martinsville American Legion & Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guards.
