William J "Bill" Barrett

July 13, 1920 - February 27, 2012

William J. "Bill" Barrett, age 91 passed away Monday morning, February 27, 2012 at the Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville. He was a resident of Trafalgar and former resident of Indianapolis.

Bill was born July 13, 1920 in Arkansas to the late Traffard & Martha Barrett. He married Della (Asberry) Barrett in July of 1947 in Indianapolis. Della preceded him in death on June 23, 1989, after 42 loving years.

Bill was the devoted father to two daughters: Wilma Jean Moore of Morgantown & Joyce (husband, George) Jones of Greenfield. He will be remembered by his sister: Pearle Fisher of South Carolina; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren & seven great-great grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by a daughter: Ruby Thomason; one son: Ralph Jones and three brothers: Linard, Cortee & Bert Barrett.

He retired in 1981 as a Machinist with Mitchell & Scott Machine Shop in Indianapolis. Bill and his wife were also the owners & operators of Barrett's Market in Indianapolis from 1971 to 1989. Bill enjoyed flower & vegetable gardening and red Mercury automobiles.

The Rev. Roy Ice will conduct a funeral service at1 pm Wednesday at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral Home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
