Thomas H "Tom" Fowler

October 31, 1947 - April 4, 2015

Thomas H. "Tom" Fowler Jr., age 67, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, April 4, 2015 at his home in Trafalgar.

He was born in Brown County on October 31, 1947, to his parents, the late Thomas H. and Virgie (Collins) Fowler Sr. Tom married Janice (Tryon) Fowler on September 11, 1965 in Ft. Plain, AL. She lovingly survives after 49 devoted years of marriage.

He was retired as the owner and operator of Fowler Excavating in Trafalgar. Tom enjoyed the outdoors by fishing, deer hunting and mushroom hunting. He will be remembered as a workaholic and his love for working with his brothers.

Tom is survived by his wife, daughter: Cindy (Randall) Mattox of Trafalgar; siblings: Paul DeWayne Fowler and Allan Dale Fowler both of Morgantown, Orville Dean (Kathy) Fowler of Franklin and Leon Fowler of Iowa, Mary Ruth (Ron) Goodnight, Virginia Mae (Gordon) Arnold, Ruby J. Hartman and Maxine Branton all of Morgantown; three grandchildren: John Mattox of Trafalgar, US Army Specialist Chris Mattox of Germany and Alisha (Steven) Bobo of Trafalgar.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Elesmalee "Lee" Fowler and Robert A. Fowler.

A Celebration of Tom's Life will be conducted by Cindy and Randall Mattox at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the Spearsville Wesleyan Church Cemetery in Brown County.
