Thelma L (Prosser) McKee

Thelma L. (Prosser) McKee age 89 passed away peacefully Saturday morning,October 13, 2012 at the Grandview Health & Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville. She was a resident of Martinsville and a former resident of Morgantown.

She was born August 12, 1923 in Brown County to the late Daniel & Ette Mae (Hasse) Prosser. Thelma was a 1938 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. She married Alva Paul McKee on February 18, 1946 in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on August 14, 1983, after 37 loving years.

Survivors include one daughter: Diana C. Higginbotham of Greenfield; three sons: Craig L. McKee of Morgantown, David P. McKee & Phillip D. McKee both of Martinsville; one sister: Charlotte Stone of Indianapolis. Thelma will be remembered by her six grandchildren: Melissa Tincher, Amy Amburgy, Christy Robertson, Jason McKee, Tammy & Matthew Goode; and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son: John N. McKee; siblings: Vivian Rossell & Bud Prosser.

Thelma was a loving homemaker and worked for RCA during the War. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed oil painting, reading and mushroom hunting.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.

Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Thelma to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 E. 91st Street Suite 100 Indianapolis, IN 46240.

Hi Craig, I am sooo sorry to hear about your Mom. I know words and good deeds cannot say or do the things we need, to mend the loss you feel in your heart. It's not going to happen over night, but with each passing day it will hurt less and less. I'm suse you'll hear it alot, but if there is anything I could do for all of you, please let me know!
