Sharon K (Brown) Ellis

February 24, 1944 - February 3, 2016

Sharon K. (Brown) Ellis, age 71 passed away Wednesday evening, February 3, 2016 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Trafalgar.

Sharon was born on February 24, 1944 in Columbus, to the late Glen and Rozella (Ritchie) Brown. She attended Columbus High School and went on to marry David A. Ellis on June 10, 1972 in Edinburgh. He survives after 43 loving years of marriage.

Sharon worked as a Cafeteria Manager at the Indian Creek High School during the 1980's and 90's. Prior to that, she worked as a Dispatcher for the Edinburg Police Department. Sharon loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed wintering in Florida and being on the beach with her husband, working in her vegetable and flower gardens and riding horses. Sharon will be remembered for her exceptional cooking and baking, especially her pies.

She is survived by her husband, David; children: Jauna (Wayne) Harshman of Trafalgar, Randy Wise of Morgantown, Tony (Carri) Wise of Trafalgar, David W. (Kelly) Ellis of Hope, Teresa (Fred) Price of Trafalgar, Deborah (Tom) Deppe of Westport, John (Diane) Ellis of Walesboro, and Tom Ellis of North Vernon; siblings: Robert (Diana) Fear of Columbus and Eleonore Tite of Greenfield, OH; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her step-mother, Rosemary Brown; brothers: Glen Brown and Donald Fear; and a great granddaughter, Kristie Price.

The Rev. Stan Icenogle will conduct a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Sharon to the Alzheimer's Association South Central Chapter, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.

Though I never met Sharon, David and his sister Diane go way back with my family--all going to Nineveh School. Was I able to keep up with you through my sister, Barbara Mitchell and her husband Dale. I knew you are good friends. My condolences to you for the loss of your wife and sister-in-law. May she live on in your hearts and minds through many precious and beautiful memories.
