Sandra K "Sandy" Akers

December 17, 1940 - June 19, 2014

Sandra K. "Sandy" (Edwards) Akers, age 73 passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, June 19, 2014 at the Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville. She was a resident of Brown County.

Sandy was born in Indianapolis on December 17, 1940 to her parents, the late George Lee and Dorothy Helen (Wood) Edwards. She was a 1959 graduate of Whiteland High School and went on to marry Donald Denton Bullock in March of 1961. He preceded her in death in February of 1966. Sandy was a familiar face at Whitaker Chevrolet in Morgantown where she worked as the Parts Manager from 1976 until she retired in 2002. After retirement, Sandy enjoyed working for her son's as the Bookkeeper for Bullock Mechanical Contractors in Brown County.

She is survived by her children: Dennis Bullock and James (Jodi) Bullock both of Brown County; grandchildren: Aaron, Brandi & Evan Bullock all of Brown County and Sarah Trautwein of Indianapolis; and a brother: James Lee (Carolyn) Edwards of Greenfield.

She enjoyed traveling with her sons to Canada on fishing trips, cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events and spending time with her dog, Ruby.

PastorJim Ackerman will conduct a funeral service on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

I look at your photo and see the same girl I knew from the on the lake 50's. I am so sorry that I didn't know you better. It seems you lived life the way it was supposed to be lived and God's Reward awaits you. Rest in Peace Sandy. Too all the family and her friends, I send a sincere condolence for their loss. We ill always miss her smile.

I remember how welcoming Sandy always made you feel whenever you were around her. Ready with a smile, chuckle and fun sense of humor! We often had a good time talking about being fellow Capricorns....The most important thing in her life was always her sons and she'd be very proud of her family today!
