Ronny Wagers, age 62 passed away on Thursday morning, February 4, 2016 at IU Health – Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Nashville.
Ronny was born on June 9, 1953 in Manchester, KY. He attended Indian Creek High School & Brown County High School and went on to retire in 2010 as heavy equipment operator after 30 years of service. Throughout his career, he worked for Central Engineering, Poindexter and Gradex all of Indianapolis. Ronny was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 103 in Indianapolis. He also worked with Local 841 out of Terre Haute
He will be remembered as a loving husband and a devoted son, brother, father, grandpa and uncle. Ronny enjoyed the outdoors by playing softball, fishing and horseback riding. He was known for his story telling and being a great provider to his family.
Ronny is survived by his parents, Frank and Norene L. (Mullins) Wagers of Trafalgar and his wife, Mary F. (Campbell) Wagers, whom he married on April 6, 1982 in Martinsville. He is also survived by his children: Lisa L. (James Wasicek II) Wagers of California, Charlotte E. (Enil) Alvan of Michigan, Ronny K. Wagers, Jessie M. (Shawn Mikesell) Wagers and Heather A. (Chris) Smith all of Brown County; Siblings: Patricia (Harold) Fisher of Edinburgh, Lillian (Dennis) Smith of Brown County, Donny, Doug and Jerry Wagers all of Trafalgar and Hershel (Carol) Wagers of Brown County; and ten grandchildren.
Ronny was preceded in death by a son, James E. Wagers; grandson, Dakota Ryan Smith, daughter in law, Shannon Wagers and a niece, Chrissy Campbell.
The Rev. Jim Albertson will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Neighborhood Church of God, 7440 Sweetwater Trail in Nineveh. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
