Jim and I were greatly saddened to hear of Roger's death. He left us too early. Our mother's were not only cousins but lifelong friends. Even though we have not lived near each other for many years, the three of us were friends as well as cousins. Jim, Roger and I spent a great deal of time together playing and creating adventures as children. After we moved to California and would visit, we shared our dreams, our thoughts on what was going on around us and always laughed. As we became adults, Jim and I would visit Roger's farms and discuss how farming had changed both for the better and for the worse. Though distance separated us, when we were together it would be as if we had seen each other last month. We will miss him.

I had the pleasure of meeting Roger through my very good friends, The Ripley's twenty or so years ago. On that first meeting Roger and I talked a lot and had many laughs. I believe the same can be said for anybody's acquaintance with Roger. He obviously was just that kind of guy. Easy going and enjoying a good laugh - Even if it was at my expense as he introduced me to the art of catching and caging young swine without inhaling all of the flies in the barn. Although I have only ran into Roger a handful of time since I do not recall ever parting ways without a little conversation, a few laughs and a handshake. I have nothing but fond memories of the time I spent with him. My sincere condolences to his family and good friends. SB
