Quinten Butt Obituary

Quinten Butt, age 82 passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, August 24, 2014 at the Columbus Regional Hospital. He was a resident of Nashville and a former resident of Valparaiso.

He was born in Dubuque, Iowa on December 18, 1931 to his parents, the late Elmer Otis and Virginia (Hanson) Butt. He was a 1949 graduate of Dubuque High School and went on to graduate from Loras College in Dubuque. He served as a Private First Class with United States Army during the Korean War. He was retired from the Hotel and Restaurant industry where he worked in management, sales and purchasing for many years.

Quinten enjoyed fishing, feeding the birds and was a fan of Notre Dame Football. He believed in and contributed to the Paralyzed Veterans of America and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Quinten is survived by his children: Jennifer Butt of New York City, NY and Jordan (wife, Beth) Scott of Wildwood, Missouri. He will be remembered by his grandchildren: Jordan, Taylor and Brooke Scott; and great grandson: Theodore Scott.

Quinten was preceded in death by his longtime companion: Judith George on March 11, 2008; and several siblings.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.

Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Quinten to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
