Pauline Mihay Guenther Staab, age 107, passed away Tuesday morning, July 8, 2014 at the Allisonville Meadows in Fishers. She was a resident of Indianapolis and aformer resident of Brown County.
Pauline was born in Sibiu, Romania on March 5, 1907 to the late Gustav A. and Pauline (Bendrofean) Mihay. She was a 1925 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis and went on to attend Business College. Pauline married Carl Guenther on November 2, 1935 in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1970. She later married William Staab on October 25, 1991 in Martinsville. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1997.
Pauline retired in 1943 as a Clerk for the Railroadmen's Federal Savings and Loan in Indianapolis. She was a very active senior and an avid swimmer, even up into the age of 100. Pauline enjoyed traveling in her RV and spent the winters in North Port Charlotte, FL. She attended Saint Martin's Catholic Church in Martinsville.
Pauline is survived by her daughter: Frances (Art) Druckamiller of Indianapolis; granddaughters: Kristin P. (Mark) Dutton and Kari L. (Victor) Mbiti, both of Indianapolis; and great grandchildren: Corey & Quinten Howard and Miller & Maxwell Dutton.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Helen Freudenburg, Gustav, Ernest, Joseph and Harry Mihay.
The Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a funeral service on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Pauline to the Martinsville YMCA, 2039 E. Morgan St. Martinsville, IN 46151.
The family sincerely appreciates the love, care and concern for Pauline that was provided by the staffs of the Rittenhouse Senior Living and the Allisonville Meadows.
