Paul Arndt, age 87 passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon,August 9, 2011at his residence inBrownCounty. By his side was his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Lisa K. (Nlting) Arndt whom he married on November 12, 1949 in Grube,Germany.
He was born June 15, 1924in Altliepenfier, Germany to the late Gustav and Helen (Ditrenner) Arndt. Paul and his family came to the United States in 1951 and he became a United States Citizen in March of 1958.
Paul retired in 1983 from the Laborers International Union of North America working for Huber Hunt, Wilhelm & Hartman Construction companies. He was a 50 year member of the Laborers International Union and a 44 year member of the Shepherd of theHills Lutheran Church in Bean Blossom, where he was a past Trustee. Paul loved working on his family farm raising livestock and growing tobacco. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Paul was the loving father to one daughter: Marianne (husband, David) Hedrick of Bargersville, two sons: Klaus J. (wife, Judy) Arndt & Gerhard H. Arndt both of Brown County. He will be missed by his two brothers: Willi (wife, Edith) Arndt & Gerhard (wife, Hilde) Arndt both ofSchwerin,Germany. Paul was cherished by his 12 grandchildren: Adrienne, Courtney, Brittany & Matthew Hedrick, Kimberly Piccone, Missy Myers, Tina Youngblood, Tiffany, Timothy, Terry, Toby & Jeff Arndt and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter in law: Sheila Arndt.
