Eleanor M. Sipes, age 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 5, 2018 at Gentry Park Senior Community in Bloomington. She was a resident of Brown County.
Eleanor was born May 26, 1922, in Indianapolis, to her parents, the late Henry Lane and Lillian (Leonard) Sipes. She was a 1940 graduate of Emmerich Manuel High School in Indianapolis.
She retired in 1983 after 20 years of service as an Assembly Worker for Hewett-Packard in Harrison, New Jersey. Prior to that, Eleanor worked for RCA in Indianapolis as the Department Head for testing tubes for more than 20 years. She enjoyed tending to her garden, working in her yard, reading “How To” books and spending time with her three cats and her dogs “Happy and Baby.” She was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR, with Jeff Gordon being her favorite driver.
Eleanor is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Hunter Lane Sipes and Betty Ford.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
