Thelma “Jean” (Parsley) Dailey, age 87 of Brown County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, September 19, 2018 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
She was born in Brown County on April 26, 1931, to her parents, the late, Otto and Olive (Burris) Parsley. Jean was a 1949 graduate of Helmsburg High School in Brown County. She married Robert L. Dailey on September 16, 1950 in Indianapolis. He lovingly survives after 68 devoted years of marriage.
Jean is also survived by her children, Gary L. Dailey of Los, Angels, CA, Larry W. Dailey and Barbara J. Husk, both of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Ralph Parsley, Sarah Hutchison and Margie Bock.
Jean retired in 1997 as an Avon Representative after 30 years of service. Prior to that, she worked for Ohio Casualty Insurance Company in Indianapolis.
Jean was a 25 year member of the Nashville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens and mushroom hunting. Jean also enjoyed watching television, especially the Young and the Restless soap opera, Grand Ole Opry, westerns and movies with Angela Lansbury. She will be remembered for delicious cooking and baking and her love for her family.
The Rev. Mary Cartwright will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
