Leisa M. (Burcham) Summers, age 54, passed away all too soon on Friday afternoon, June 22, 2018 at Indiana University Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Morgantown and former resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Brownsburg, Indiana.
Leisa was born on December 30, 1963 in Lebanon to her parents, the late Robert and Jeanne (Sanders) Burcham. She was a 1982 graduate of John Marshall High School in Indianapolis and went on to proudly serve as a Petty Officer 3rd Class with the United States Navy.
She married John M. Summers on January 5, 1988 in Tokyo, Japan. He lovingly survives after 30 devoted years of marriage.
Leisa worked as an underwriting manager for Regions Bank in Indianapolis and formerly for Wells Fargo in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She loved to read, spend time in her flower and vegetable gardens and attend music concerts. Leisa enjoyed traveling and was a Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, John; son Matt Summers of Renton, Washington; daughter Lindsey (David) Mitchell of Portsmouth, Virginia and grandchildren: Braxton, Ariya and Wyatt; siblings: Karen (Mike) Wolfley of Avon and Gary (Linda) Burcham of Indianapolis.
Leisa was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: James and Robert Burcham.
In keeping with Leisa’s wishes, she will be cremated with a private family service to follow. Services have been provided by Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
