Marilyn R (Cline) Parker

March 31, 1936 - October 16, 2015

Marilyn R. (Cline) Parker, age 79, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, October 16, 2015 at the Columbus Regional Hospital. She was a resident of Brown County.

Marilyn was born in Dravosburg, PA on March 31, 1936, to the late David R. and Dorothea E. (Webb) Cline. She was a 1954 graduate of Helmsburg High School and went on to attend Indiana University. Marilyn married Ferris H. Parker Jr. on August 15, 1959 at the Unity Baptist Church in Brown County. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2007 after 48 devoted years of marriage.

Marilyn was a homemaker and operated her own farm and raised Morgan Horses for over twenty years. She was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Brown County. Marilyn enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens and was a member of Gardening Clubs, both in Brown and Morgan County. Marilyn was an avid reader and a member of the Friends of the Brown County Library. She also enjoyed painting, quilting, traveling and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Daniel (Dee) Parker, Richard (Barbara) Parker, Christopher (Jacqueline) Parker, Laura (Matthew) Anderson and Dorothea (Brian) Jordan; brother: David Lloyd (Mary Ann) Cline; grandchildren: Eli, Caleb, Johnathon, Sarah, Joshua, Zechariah and Jeremiah Parker, Anders Jorgenson, Lydia Hood, Heather and Lillian Anderson; great grandchildren, Joel and Stewart Jorgenson, Ferris and George Parker, Henry and Oscar Hood.

She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Parker.

The Rev. Lee Snider will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22nd at the Unity Baptist Church, 7361 Spearsville Road in Brown County. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
