Marianne A (Stout) Hatchett

Marianne A. (Stout) Hatchett, age 92 passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Franklin.

Marianne was born in Johnson County on August 21, 1922, to her parents, the late C. Ray and Edna (Bridges) Stout. She was a 1940 graduate of Union High School and went on to receive a Business Degree from Central Business College. At age 13, Marianne was honored to lead the start of the Franklin Fair Parade by riding a black and white horse in 1935.

She retired in 1980 as a Medical Secretary for the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis after 30 years of service. After retirement, Marianne enjoyed pouring ceramics molds for the residents of the Masonic Home to paint. Marianne was a 70 year member of the Providence Christian Church where she was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship, was an Elder, Trustee and a Sunday School Teacher for 35 years and a 50 member of the choir. Marianne also was also a former leader in the Christian Youth Fellowship and Chi Rho. She was also a member of the Federal Employee Retirees Association and a former member of the Senior Bowling League in Franklin.

She enjoyed traveling with and wintering in North Ft. Myers Beach, Florida with her husband. Marianne enjoyed playing euchre, gardening, and cross stitching. She was an avid player of shuffleboard and was known as a "Kitchen Player." Marianne loved her family and will be missed by all those that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 73 devoted years, William H. "Bill" Hatchett, whom she married on November 21, 1941 in Providence. Also surviving is her loving daughter, Rebecca A. (husband, Richard) Ritter of Huffman, TX; grandchildren: Angie (husband, Chris) Ludwig and Andi (husband, Michael) Webb both of Huffman, TX; great grandchildren: Ashley Stroud, Victoria, Hailey and Katelyn Webb and Jake Ludwig all of Huffman, TX.

Marianne was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: James and Lowell Stout.

The Rev. Dr. Steven Sorensen will conduct a funeral service Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary, 300 S. Morton Street in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Swartz Mortuary. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown. Burial will be at First Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.

Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Marianne to the Providence Christian Church "Memorial Fund" 4080 W. County Road 100 N. Bargersville, IN 46106.
