Leonard Hardin Jr., age 67 passed away Saturday afternoon, April 6, 2013 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. He was a resident of Nashville.
He was born in Grundy, Virginia on January 18, 1946 to the late Leonard & Virginia (Stevenson) Hardin Sr. Leonard married Barbara J. (Campbell) Hardin on January 4, 1967 in Jolliet, IL. She loving survives in Nashville after 46 years of marriage.
Also surviving are his children: Barbara (Bob) Hall of Gipson, IL and Patricia (Bob) Johnston of Flat Rock, MI; sisters: Rebecca Keluge of Lamont, IL & Peggy Blawin of IL; one brother: Bill Hardin of IL; five grandchildren: Timothy & Tiffany Hardin, Chris & Katie Johnston and Robbie Burguess.
He was preceded in death by one great grandson: Landon E. Hardin.
Leonard worked as a mechanic for Amoco Gas Station in Lemont, IL from 1981 to 2001. He also worked for Hendrickson Manufacturing as a Machine Operator for 13 years in Burr Ridge, IL, where he was also the Union Stewart. Leonard was a member of the Full faith Gospel Church in Brown County. He enjoyed going out to eat, fishing and chewing tobacco. Leonard was a fan of John Wayne and western movies.
The Rev. Jim Hoskins will conduct a funeral service at 1 pm on Tuesday at the Faith Full Gospel Church, 6881 St. Rd. 135 in Brown County. Friends may call from 11 am until time of service on Tuesday at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
