Leon Fox

Leon Fox, age 98, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, January 12, 2017 at the Brownsburg Meadows. He was a lifelong resident of Morgantown.

Leon was born September 23, 1918, in Morgantown, to the late Charles and Mae (Ford) Fox. He married Catherine I. (Neville) Fox on January 18, 1939 in Martinsville. She preceded him in death on July 30, 2003 after 64 devoted years of marriage

Leon retired in 1975 as a Machine Operator for General Motors Truck and Bus Plant in Indianapolis after 29 years of service. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union in Indianapolis and a former member of the Good Sam Club.

Leon enjoyed camping and traveling with his wife to Florida, working on automobiles and reading. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Arion (Betty) Fox of Morgantown an Peggy (Dale) Perry of Avon; grandchildren: Gary (Shelley) Fox of Brown County, Rhonda (John) Knecht of Thiensville, Wisconsin, Rebecca (Kevin) McClure-Hooper of Harrisburg, Virginia and Richard (Laura) Perry of Brownsburg; great-grandchildren, Bobby, Megan, Logan, Gracie, Elizabeth, Kasey, Elaina and Gwendolyn.

Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine; siblings, Dorothy Hayes, Carolyn Frazier, Helen Gresh, Hester, Vessie and Louis Fox.

The Rev. Don Kinser will conduct a funeral service on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
