Lawrence L "Larry" Johnson

November 16, 1947 - February 4, 2013

Lawrence L. "Larry" Johnson, age 65 passed away Monday morning, February 4, 2013 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Brown County and a former resident of Geneva on the Lake, Ohio.

Larry was born in Alexandria, VA on November 16, 1947 to his parents Larne L. & Norma Jean (Moore) Johnson. He was a 1965 graduate of Martinsville High School and attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute.

Larry retired in 2003 at the owner and operator of the Lollipop Shop of Geneva on the Lake in Ohio after 25 years of service. He also volunteered as a fireman, EMT and Arson Investigator for the Geneva on the Lake Fire Department.

He was a member of the Mt. Olive Church in Peoga and enjoyed working on the computer, listening to country music and traveling. Larry was known as a great cook and famous for his homemade Spanish Rice and Sushi. He also designed music CD covers.

He is survived by his father: Larne L. Johnson of Martinsville; wife: Jean Olds – Johnson of Brown County; son: Anthony W. (Karen) Johnson of Indianapolis. He will be remembered by his siblings: Teresa Faye Davis of Whiteland, Steve Johnson of Spearsville & Michael Johnson of Ohio; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother; and a brother: Don Johnson.

The Rev. Roger Stevens will conduct a funeral service 1 pm Friday at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 am until time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery.

Les, Jean and family, I was so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I really enjoyed the time we all spent together at the family reunions in Cleveland and will miss him dearly.
