Kenneth E. King age 97 passed away Sunday evening, October 21, 2012 at the Indiana University Health Morgan Hospital in Martinsville. He was a resident of Morgantown.
Kenny was born August 12, 1915 in Clinton County to the late M. Virgil & Jessie A. (Walker) King. He was a 1933 graduate of Sugar Creek Township High School in Pickard, IN and attended Purdue University. He married Vera M. Ploughe on December 26, 1935 in Scircleville. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2002 after 66 loving years. Kenny served his country as a Corporal with the Company D 11th Infantry Unit of United States Army from 1934 to 1937 then served as an Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class with the United States Navy from 1944 to 1945.
He retired in 1978 as a Tool Engineer for the Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis after 14years of service. Kenny was a 50 year member of the Morgantown United Methodist Church and a member of the Morgantown Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star where he served as a Past Patron. He was also a member of the Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite, Morgan County Shrine Club and the Kirklin American Legion Post. Kenny enjoyed fishing and wintering in Fort Pierce, FLwith his wife. He was known as the "Fix-It Man". Kenny could fix anything from refrigeration to carpentry.
He leaves behind two daughters: Donna King and Rosella (husband, Robert) Seay both of Morgantown and one grandson: Kenneth C. Seay of Indianapolis. He will be remembered by his siblings: Phyllis Powell of Arizona, E. Joan Brown of Frankfort, Jewel Haskett of Zionsville, R.E. "Zeke" King of Frankfort & Velma Boone of Lebanon.
Kenny is preceded in death by a son: Larry Joe King, grandson: Keith Alan Seay, three sisters and three brothers.
The Rev. Jill Howard will conduct a graveside service at 11:00 am, Saturday at Greenlawn Cemetery, 496 W. County Road 200 South in Frankfort with Military graveside rites.
