Condolences for Jane Powers

My condolences to Bill and the family. As a former member of MUMC I was priviledged to know Jane and be in her Sunday School class.

I will forever remember Jane as THE greatest medical social worker I have ever known. Her compassion and dedication to her profession and the patients she served was second to none. I can honestly say I learned from the best, and I am so fortunate to have had Jane as a mentor. Even after all these years, when faced with difficult decisions/patients/cases, I still seem to ask myself, WWJD. (What Would Jane Do). Prayers to Bill and the Family.

I was saddened to hear of Jane's passing and then I had the vision in my mind of all the souls that she helped in her life greeting her in heaven; what a celebration!!

My sincere condolences to Bill and all of the family. I actually met Jane and knew her briefly at I.U. Bloomington, where we were both studying Social Work. I had grown up near Bill and his family so was happy Jane and Bill met and married. Jane's family, especially her sister-in-law Elaine had told me over the years how special Jane was. I am so sorry for your loss of this beautiful person.

I will miss you my dear friend more than I can say. We were kindred spirits in so many ways. I don't remember a single point we ever disagreed on and oh how we could rant against the evils in the world! :-) You are the ultimate Social Worker and I learned so much from you and will always consider you the gold standard. I will remember your credo that cancer would not define your life, and it did not! You touched countless lives, including mine and you will remain in my heart always.

So sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of working closely with Jane at IU for 2 years and she was a kind, knowledgable, caring colleague.
