Henry Wagler, age 93 passed away peacefully Saturday morning, December 29, 2012 at his residence in Brown County.
He was born in Daviess County on October 10, 1919, to the late Daniel & Lea (Lengacher) Wagler. Henry married his loving wife of 66 years, Frances B. Slaubaugh on January 23, 1945 in Loogootee.Frances preceded him in death on January 19, 2012.
In 1950, Henry and his wife moved to Brown County to farm and support the ministries of the Bean Blossom Mennonite Church. He worked as a farmer all his life raising crops and dairy cattle. Henry was a former pastor of the Bean Blossom Mennonite Church; and he also was a school bus driver for Brown County Schools with over 20 years of service. He was a past board member of the Farm Service Agency and the Weeping Willow Cemetery in Bean Blossom.
Henry was the devoted father to Lorene (husband, Gary) Link, Edward E. (wife, Pamela) Wagler, David J. (wife, Eulala) Wagler, Kenneth L. (wife, Lesa) Wagler, Lloyd W. (wife, Crystal) Wagler & Darryl S. (wife, Jackie) Wagler all of Brown County, Howard L. (wife, Cathy) Wagler of Hutchinson, KS and Dorothea M. (husband, Raymond) Troyer of Goshen. He will be remembered by his brother: Louis Wagler of Hartville, OH; 23 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren & 1 great-great grandson.
Henry was preceded in death by five sisters: Rosa Wagler, Lena Knepp, Tillie Gingerich, Anna Yoder & Elizabeth "Lizzie" Knepp; four brothers: Simon, Elmer, Amos & Pete Wagler; one grandson: Todd Wagler & one great grandson: Noah Wagler.
Pastors Gary Link and Howard Wagler will conduct a private family graveside service on Thursday at the Weeping Willow Cemetery in Bean Blossom. A memorial service for Henry will be held at 11 am on Thursday at the Bean Blossom Mennonite Church, 5046 N. State Road 135 in Bean Blossom. Friends may call from 1 to 8 pm on Wednesday at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
