George E. Fisher Sr., age 87, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, December 17, 2015 at the Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville. He was a resident of Brown County.
George was born in Indianapolis on May 19, 1928, to his parents, the late Ralph W. and Elma (Kenne) Fisher. He was a 1946 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. George married Margaret M. (Lehr) on April 2, 1948 in Indianapolis. She preceded him in death on August 23, 2008 after 60 devoted years of marriage.
George was skilled as a licensed plumber and retired in 1983 from Paul E. Smith Pluming in Indianapolis where he held the positions of Purchasing Agent and Warehouse Manager for 15 years. George loved living in rural Brown County where he enjoyed tending to his yard, home and working in his tool shop.
He is survived by his sons, George E. Fisher Jr. of Brown County, Ralph M. (Linda) Fisher of Monrovia, Robert L. (Mica) Fisher of Chicago, IL and Marion H. Fisher of Martinsville and William H. (Becky) Fisher of Mooresville; eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Louise Kaiser.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
