Elijah A. “Eli” Brock, age 20, passed away all too soon on Thursday evening, September 8, 2016 at IU Health – Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Martinsville.
Eli was born in Greenwood on November 25, 1995. He was a 2014 graduate of Martinsville High School and went to serve as a Private First Class with the United States Army. Eli was employed at For Bare Feet in Martinsville.
He is survived by his parents, Melissa S. Russell of Centerton and Colby A. Brock of Martinsville; step father, Steele Russell; siblings; Autumn Brock of Martinsville, Elizabeth Russell, Alex Russell and Karl Russell of Centerton; maternal grandmother, Esther Saubert of Franklin and paternal grandmother Beverly Brock of Martinsville.
Eli was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jerry Moore and his paternal grandfather, Hubert Brock.
He enjoyed the outdoors by fishing, hunting and target shooting. Eli also enjoyed riding anything with wheels.
The Rev. Tommy Phillips will conduct a funeral service on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Spearsville Wesleyan Church Cemetery in Brown County with military rites presented by the Indiana National Guard Ceremonial Unit.
