Donna D. (Dodson) Baker, age 75 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, April 21, 2016 from her residence in Mooresville.
She was born on June 15, 1940 in Maysville, Kentucky to the late, James Kenneth and Ruth (Foreman) Dodson. Donna was a 1957 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis and went on to marry Curtis Baker on November 28, 1957 in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2007, after 49 devoted years of marriage.
Donna is survived by her children, Donita Bentley of Waverly and Allen (Robyn) Baker of Greenfield; siblings, Diane Hutte of Plainfield/Florida, Jim and Donald Dale Dodson both of York, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Jamie Dale of Waverly, Michael Sizemore of Greenwood, Jessica Sizemore of Waverly, Misty Hardy of Knightstown, Allyson Savage of Columbus and Brooke Baker of Greenfield; great grandchildren, Ian and Evan Sizemore, Curtis Dean Sizemore, Mikayla L. Hardy, Savanah Jo Hardy, Gabriel Alyn Hardy, Jaxon and Korbin Gray.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis; and a sister, Patty McWhorter.
Donna retired from the Salvation Army in Indianapolis where she worked as a secretary. Prior to that, she held the same positon for the Carpenters Union, Local #60 in Indianapolis. She also worked on the line at RCA in Indianapolis. Donna loved the Lord and her many church families. She was a member of the House of Christ Church in Indianapolis, West Newton Youth and Worship Center, River of Life Church in Greenfield and the Way of the Holiness Tabernacle Church in Morgantown.
Donna enjoyed oil painting, reading her Bible and volunteering at the Meadow Lakes Nursing Home in Mooresville. She loved her family and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
The Revs. Tony Cannon & Wayne Baker will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Monday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery in Brown County.
