Dalton Aaron Couch, 19, passed away at 11:15 pm on Monday, May 27th, 2013, just five days shy of his 20th birthday, in Indianapolis from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.
Dalton was born on June 1, 1993 to Randy and Nancy (Hoskins) Couch. Although he lived most of his life on Old Haggard Road in Brown County, at the time of his death he was living his mother in Bloomington.
Dalton was an athlete who could pitch a great speed ball. He could throw a walnut straight-up and over the tallest trees in the county. Dalton was a naturally gifted basketball player. He loved watching ESPN and keeping up with sports. Dalton enjoyed fishing; when he was 9 he got his picture in the paper when he caught a record-setting 9 lb. 5 oz. largemouth bass. He made friends easily and had a smile that could heal the wounded and bring joy to the mourning. He was great protecting and entertaining children; kids liked his since of humor and his easy-going manner. Dalton loved animals. In a sad twist of fate, Dalton's cat "Tiger", who he'd grown up with and who had been a part of the Couch family for many years, was run over and killed on the same day Dalton passed. When Dalton was given a job to complete, he would do it, and do it well. He attended the Faith Full Gospel Church in Brown County, where his grandpa is the pastor.
Dalton is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Darrell "Bob" Couch, and his first cousin: Morgan Joseph LaVere, who died on November 28th, 1998. Morgan grew-up next door to Dalton and was one of his closets buddies. The two of them, along with Dalton's older brother Justin, liked to play "wheel chair derby" together.
Dalton is survived by his mother: Nancy Couch of Bloomington; his father: Randy Couch of Nashville; his brother Justin Couch (23) of Bloomington and his sister: Brandy Couch (21) of Nashville. He will be remembered by his maternal grandparents: Jim & Shirley Hoskins of Brown County and his paternal grandmother: Lula Couch of Nineveh.
The Rev. Randall William LaVere II will conduct a funeral service 1 pm Friday at the Faith Full Gospel Church, 6881 N. SR 135 in Brown County. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
