Clara M (Miller) Jones-Baxter

Clara M. (Miller) Jones-Baxter, age 86, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at her home in Greenwood.

Clara was born April 4, 1929, in Indianapolis, to the late Ernest C. Miller and Dorothy B. (Sears) McGowen. She married John M. "Jack" Baxter on November 21, 1987 in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2013.

Clara was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. She was employed as a waitress at the Fireside Inn South in Indianapolis for 27 years. Clara enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Greenwood; Veterans of Foreign Wars in Whiteland & the American Legion Post 252 in Greenwood.

Clara will be missed by her daughter: Michelle Rae Jones of Greenwood; son: Mike Jones of Plainfield; grandchildren: Michael and Robert Risinger and two great grandchildren: Lauryn and Mara Risinger; step children: Barbara Jean Songer, Mary Jane Carrico, John M. & Jeffery Wayne Baxter; and cousin: Norman Sullivan.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents and husband Jack.

Clara's wishes were to be cremated. Cremation Services have been entrusted to Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown. For more information please visit

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Clara was always such a joy to be around. She always had a smile on her face. I loved seeing her spend time with Mara when we would visit. It always put a smile on my face. She will be missed.
