Chloe D (Holder) Mason

November 11, 1927 - June 28, 2012

Chloe D. (Holder) Morgan-Mason, age 84 passed away Thursday morning, June 28, 2012 at the Paoli Health & Living Community in Paoli. She was a resident of Martinsville and former resident of Morgantown.

Chloe was born November 11, 1927 in Somerset, KY to the late Alonzo and Myrtle (Stephens) Holder. She married William H. Morgan on February 7, 1949 in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1972, after 23 loving years.

Chloe worked during the 1960's & 1970's as a beautician for Blocks Department Store at Southern Plaza and Ayres Department Store in Greenwood. She also worked as a cashier at the Morgantown IGA during the early 1970's. Chloe attended the Unity Baptist Church in Brown County and was active in several Senior Centers. She enjoyed playing golf, euchre and working in her flower gardens. Chloe also enjoyed traveling the country in her RV, sewing and crocheting.

Chloe is survived by her daughter: Patricia A. (husband, Tim) Day of French Lick; son: William H. (wife, Debra) Morgan Jr. of Martinsville. She will be remembered by her six grandchildren & four great grandchildren; two brothers: Paul Holder of North Vernon & Dorvis Holder of Cincinnati, OH.

She was preceded in death by four sisters: Ortha Gaw, Barbara Harris, Opal Whittle & Olga George; and two brothers: Frettis & Eldon Holder.

The Rev. Lee Snider will conduct a funeral service on Monday at 1 pm at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center located at 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 am until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

So very, very sorry to hear of Aunt Chloe's passing. She was always so kind and loving to me. She always went out of her way to make us feel at home whenever we visited, and especially when I stayed with you guys. I have many great memories of our times together and she will always hold a very special place in my heart. A favorite aunt for sure!!
