Carl D. Mowery, age 77 passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 6, 2015 at the Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville. He was a resident of Nashville.
Carl was born in Jasonville on January 7, 1937 to the late Ward and Bertha (Mowery) Mowery. He married Barbara H. (Gregory) Mowery on August 12, 1966 in Indianapolis. She lovingly survives after 48 devoted years of marriage. Carl was a retired independent Diesel Mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, children: Mark Mowery and Dane "Bo" (Lisa) Mowery both of Nashville, Rev. Robert (April) Pugh of Indianapolis, Stanley (Merri) Pugh of Hillisburg and Allen (Betty) Pugh of Indianapolis. Carl will be remembered by his sister: Betty (Lloyd) Wineinger of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son: Ronald D. Mowery; siblings: Ward and Charles Mowery, Jeannie Wasnidge and Doris Ginn.
Carl will be remembered for his ability to make you laugh, smile and make you feel that nothing is as bad as it seemed. He deeply loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren was very important to him. Carl was a fan of NASCAR with #99 Carl Edwards being his favorite driver. He enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds & squirrels and going to yard sales.
The Rev. Robert Pugh will conduct a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garfield Park Baptist Church, 1061 E. Southern Avenue in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
