Brian L. Lawalin, age 56, passed away all too soon on Friday evening, May 22, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital South in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Indianapolis and a former resident of Princes Lakes.
Brian was born in Indianapolis on November 12, 1958, to his parents Larry L. and Rosemary "Rosie" (Mustard) Lawalin. He was a 1977 graduate of Brown County High School and attended the University of Indianapolis. He married Tina (Burris) Foster-Lawalin on May 8, 2010 at the Morgantown United Methodist Church. She lovingly survives.
Brian retired in 2015 as a Heat Treat Controlman for Allison Transmissions in Speedway after 38 years of service. He was a member of the UAW Local 933 in Indianapolis and the Morgantown United Methodist Church. Brian will be remembered as a workaholic and who was known for his ability to use his hands and tools to build anything. He enjoyed working on old cars and motorcycles, fishing and hunting on the family farm. During his teenage years, Brian played the drums in the high school band and was a member of the Brown County 4-H Club.
He is survived by his mother, Rosie Lawalin of Brown County; sister: Dana (John) West of Whiteland; children: Daven Lawalin and Jamie Rainwater both of Trafalgar; stepchildren: Josh and David Foster both of Indianapolis; niece: Alexa West of Whiteland and a nephew: Zane West of Whiteland.
Brian was preceded in death by his father: Larry L. Lawalin on April 17, 2014 and a brother: Bruce C. Lawalin on June 5, 2007.
The Rev. Jill Howard will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
