Betty Ann (Hurdle) Hamilton

October 20, 1929 - April 28, 2015

Betty Ann (Hurdle) Hamilton, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at her home in Morgantown. She was born in Helmsburg on October 20, 1929, to Warren F. Hurdle and Olive Wilma (Young) Hurdle.

Betty Ann married the love of her life, her beloved husband, Leonard Gene Hamilton on September 30, 1950 in Jeffersonville. The Rev. Albert Nehr, a former minister at the First Baptist Church in Morgantown, performed the ceremony. The couple enjoyed a honeymoon trip to the Smoky Mountains. After graduation, Betty Ann went to work at the Indiana Employment Security Division in Indianapolis as a Clerk Typist. Later she was employed at the Morgan County Memorial Hospital as a Nurses' Aide. Betty Ann also worked at her father's business: Warren Hurdle's Insurance & Real Estate Agency in Morgantown. She worked as an assistant with Jackson Township Trustee, Robert Owens, and later she worked as a waitress for her Aunt Cornelia Lonyo, in her restaurant in Morgantown. After her husband's passing, Betty Ann worked as a sales clerk for her daughter at the "Olde Drug Store Antique Mall" in Morgantown.

Betty Ann was a 74 year member of the Morgantown First Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, her pastor and his wife, and her many friends at church.
