Arvil Burkhart Jr., age 58, passed away all too soon on June 6, 2017. He was a resident of Unionville.
Arvil was born in London, Kentucky on December 28, 1958, to his parents, Arvil Sr. and Mary K. (Cornett) Burkhart. He was a 1977 graduate of Brown County High School and worked as a Machinist for I.C.R. in Indianapolis.
Arvil was a collector of many things and was a classic car enthusiast. He was a fan of drag racing and demolition derby. Arvil loved his family and enjoyed playing Santa Clause for his grandchildren during Christmas. He also enjoyed spending time with his dog, Molly and his cat, Miss Kitty. Arvil felt a strong need to help children suffering from medical hair loss and would donate his long hair to Locks of Love.
Arvil is survived by his parents, Arvil & Mary Burkhart Sr. of Martinsville; children, Robert (Jill) Burkhart and Brett (Bobbi) Burkhart both of Bloomington, Rachel (Clyde) Sizemore, Courtney (Aaron) Wentworth and Charlotte (John) Mosley all of Brown County and Joshua (Ashley) Turner of Louisiana; companion, Diana Rotino of Trafalgar; siblings: Sonya (Lyle) Wilson and Deborah Johnston both of Martinsville, and Donna Burkhart of Franklin and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Lynn Burkhart.
The Rev. Mickey Smith will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
