Lloyd Edward Havener, Sr., age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, March 30, 2024, at Morgantown Woods in Morgantown, Indiana. He was a former resident of Kentucky.
Lloyd was born on May 6, 1944, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to his parents, the late Edward Lee Havener and Virginia (Dare) Havener.
A dedicated mechanic, Lloyd found joy in rebuilding transmissions alongside his stepfather at Frakes Transmission. He was a devout follower of the Lord and actively participated in Pentecostal congregations, often attending revivals. In his leisure time, Lloyd cherished caring for his pigeons.
He is survived by his children Angela (Larry) Evans, Sonya (John) Schultz, Chopper Havener of Ohio, Joshua Havener of Georgia and Ginnie (Josh) Cox of Indiana. He also leaves behind grandchildren Nathan Fown, Alison (Avery) Cox, Danielle (Bobby) Stinson, and Bryant (Olivia) Rudd, as well as 10 great-grandchildren. Lloyd is also survived by his siblings Ronnie Nelson, David Jones, Garry Jones, Ann Roberts, Bonnie Roberts, and Connie Geary.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lee Havener; mother, Virginia Frakes; stepfather, Robert Frakes; son, Edward Havener Jr,; and siblings Larry Havener, Terry Jones, and Bobby Frakes.
There are no services scheduled at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
